With many countries catering for skiing holidays including Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria, Canada and America then the world really is your oyster for selecting a destination for your winter jobs overseas. The Swiss Alps in Switzerland offer some of the greatest terrain in Europe and is one of the most sorts after destinations for a winter break which also means it is extremely popular for those of you looking to work their for a season. Some points to bear in mind if you are thinking about travelling to the Swiss Alps for a season are it is quite expensive. You are better off finding work with a tour operator as they will generally pay for your accommodation (including food) and ski pass which will help with your finances. The Alps have some of the most challenging slopes so if you are a pro at skiing yourself you will really push yourself whilst you are there. The night life is also fantastic, so when you are pushing yourself during the day you can allow yourself to really let yourself go at the evening with many like minded people who are also enjoying their winter work overseas.
A very popular destination for British skiers is France. Being just a stones throw away from the UK makes it easy to travel too but also offers some of the best skiing in the world. For workers who want to find winter jobs overseas it is also very attractive. With many of the resorts linking together it creates a vast skiing area. French resorts offer an experience which is hard to find elsewhere as it can offer door to door skiing so you could find yourself living and working in the mountain itself. Generally speaking you do not have a choice of which resort you work from if you are to go through a tour operator (going through a tour operator is advised as resorts are fairly pricey and your tour operator will supply you with accommodation, food, ski passes etc). Your tour operator will place you in the resort that you are needed and availability in each venue. Depending on your skiing abilities then you want to favour different locations if you can as some resorts are more for beginners and some are more for the experienced. If you are more of a novice then you want to try and avoid Chamonix as it is what some call a beast of a resort.
