Levi, Finland – Particularly suitable for beginnersLevi is the number one destination for a ski holiday in Finland. The ski season in Levi lasts approximately eight months from mid-October until the beginning of June and its northern setting pretty much promises snowfall right down to the base of the mountain. For boarders Levi has just one super-pipe, one half-pipe and a couple of snow parks. When you are in Levi you may also check out cross-country skiing, on some of the 230km cross-skiing paths, or taking a reindeer sleigh ride. The holiday resort comes with 300km of piste and the location also shares its ski area withTignes. A common pass for the Espace Killy will allow you to gain access to Tignes ski slopes as well. A complimentary shuttle between the neighbourhoods of Val d`Isere and La Daille operates every five minutes for the duration of the daytime, and every 30 minutes in the evening. Its radiant runs cater wonderfully to its even livelier nightlife, making the cross over between the two simple. If winter sports are not your thing, Val d’Isere features lots of additional activity selections; cleared walks, stores and a sports centre. Whistler, Canada – Stands strong on the world stagePositioned in the remarkable coastline mountain range of British Columbia, Whistler is a top-quality, year-round location, and is the best place for a ski holiday in Canada. The snowboard destination which is only 120km north of Vancouver goes over 8000 acres of mountain terrain - which includes 12 alpine bowls, several glaciers and above 200 marked pistes that are supported by 33 lifts, which means you only ever have to take 1 or 2 lifts to get to most parts of the resort. Whistler organised the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, firmly developing Whistler’s place on the world stage. Standard snowfall is in excess of 30 feet a season which lasts from November right through to August. Jackson Hole, USA – For a unique skiing experienceHead to Jackson Hole and you will get a completely unique experience on and off the slopes. This traditional Western town is complete with elevated wooden boardwalks and traditional cowboy saloons. It is surrounded by a lot of the most spectacular landscapes is a terrific area to take a ski holiday in North America. Wonderful skiing conditions make it a terrific destination for professionals as it features vertical slopes, deep snow and narrow chutes, it’s not necessarily appropriate for first-timers.
